Walter O’Connell, III, M.E., ASA

Walter W. O’Connell, Senior Consultant, works with a wide variety of Porto Leone Consulting LLC clients to manage cost segregation studies and tangible asset valuations. Based out of PLC’s New York City office, Walt has performed and managed cost segregation studies on hundreds of types of properties for more than 10 years. Walt’s experience in tangible asset valuations for tax, book, insurance placement, due diligence, and business planning purposes spans several industries and geographies.

Prior to joining PLC, Walt worked in the manufacturing and distribution sectors as an Inventory Control Manager for Newell Rubbermaid and Marcolin S.p.A. In those roles, he specialized in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP II) in matters of national and international purchasing, the procurement of production equipment, plant and production design, cost allocation studies, and inventory accounting.

Walt holds a Master of Arts degree in Economics from Montclair State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Kean University. He is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) as designated by the American Society of Appraisers, a member of the Association of Production and Inventory Control Supervisors (APICS), a member of the American Society of Cost Segregation Professionals (ASCSP), and a member of the American Economic Association.

Walt resides in Blairstown, NJ. Walt and his wife, Barbara have two grown children, Amber and Will. In his free time, Walt is an avid fisherman and enjoys freediving.
